Massey 6180 trailer brake problem

Hi, got a massey 6180 dynashift that has a problem with the trailer brakes.

When you press the brakes the trailer brakes dont come on gradually, its sort of all or nothing.

Put a gauge on to the trailer brakes and pushed the pedals down slowly and it jumps from 0 bar to 50bar to 120bar.

I have tried bleeding all the brakes and the trailer brake valve and its still the same.

Has anyone come across this before? Could it be the trailer brake valve sticking inside?

Thanks

Hydraulic brake valves tend to go in steps rather than smoothly. A valve with a lot of smaller steps costs more money. IIRC Agco have never fitted especially good valves so it may be a case of how they are, or has it suddenly started happening?
