Being that you can't get an 8s Vario I've been looking at an 8727. They look a big old lump but only 0.05cm longer wheelbase are they practicable as an all rounder or they a big tillage lump only! Main jobs be 3m Sumo, 5m Carrier, 5m Drill and 4000L 36m trailed sprayer in early spring before row crop time, also big square quadrant and a bit of grain lugging. Any users of the 87? Don't see that many around. Thanks.

Possibly not. That would be 80% of workload other 20 would be wood chip carting, poss dump trailer or muck spreader etc. Is it cheaper to run big tractor only on the big tasks and have an older back up machine, or buy an 8s and try and do everything?? I think an 87 on sprayer may be a bit sledge hammer to crack a nut!!!

8727s looks to be about 3t heavier than an 8s.265 With similar power, so might feel a bit sluggish on transport jobs? (Plus?) side, is you'd have the 8.4l engine tuned right back vs the 7.4l screwed right up.

In my opinion go the largest 7 series or the new 8s vario when it comes out, 8700s are a big step up in tractor l wouldnt buy the smallest of a large frame tractor to much weight. We have an 8737 and a 7626 and the 87 is a lot heavier although its turns as sharp as the 76 and is a lot nicer to drive, the 76 is a much better all rounder 8700s are a big brute of a machine best suited to strictly heavy work. nebraska tractor test puts the 8700 series at 11200 kgs on single tyres and no ballast..... Hope this helps.....cheers

I’m hoping to have an 87 on demo. Currently running a 7726 which is a lovely tractor but just taken on a block that has some serious banks in.
