Which model or models do you have in mind? There were the rigid MF 30 ones and later air drills, not that I know much of anything about them.

The old type rigid drill
Is the type I'm lookin
For, [emoji106] cheap to run!

That'll be the once dominant MF30 then. I do remember a 4m version with optional end wheel kit for transport and seem to remember seeing a picture of a great big wide one somewhere, possibly in Power Farming magazine a very long time ago.

I have a 6m one that I got from Les Carter in Lincolnshire about 3 years ago, he had another the same in his stockpile.
There was one advertised in the machinery locator (?) about 3 months ago, when I was looking for onr I spoke to a guy who said be careful nt to buy one like a banana s some folk transport them with too much seed in and crease them.
Mine seems straight..

Thanks for the input, the 6m must be an animal to get over acreage! Must have been very few made! Never even heard about one until recently! Low horsepower required too id imagine!

I bought one because the disc set up on them works well in our sandy soil and also because I wanted to pull rollers behind the drill which of course only a rigid drill will do.
I do 35 acres a day easily but that is between livestock jobs either end of day.

Has anyone got a calibration chart for a mf 29 drill. We have 3 here in the nettle store and toying with a few ideas of bringing them out again! Mixture of sizes with the biggest and 3.5m.
I pulled the Cambridge roles behind the drill this spring does a great job minimum moisture loss and another job done and less wheelings

I did my fair share on a 4m MF30 back in Warwickshire during the 80's and 90's, easily around 1000 acres per year. We had a contractor neighbour to the south of the county who had at least a couple of 6m ones, probably more.
