Could you put up a picture of the hub?
If they are the like the ones I have in mind its relatively straightforward, have the axle turned so the flat side is up, or if yours only have a grooved side have it either straight up or down, make sure threads are clean in the holes for the push off bolts, also if you can, only loosen hub from axle shaft enough to gain plenty of slack without completely taking it apart, makes the job a bit easier although sometimes they can be a pain.
If you have rust on the bar polish it off with a wire brush angle grinder
I've found a porta power tool works great to do the pushing if you have access to one

Turn the key slot straight up, your push off bolts will go in the capped holes iirc, striking the end of axle sharply with a heavy hammer can aid in breaking the wedges loose
They can be ferociously tight if they've not been moved for a spell

Thanks will give it ago do you leave wheel on or is it easier with just hub and out of interest do you know what most people run on track width I was thinking 72 as it’s at 68 at moment and seems feel rather skinny

Yeah leave the wheel on generally
As far as track width you'll have to do what fits your situation ,for what its worth we run our 828s at 80 inches measuring from center of tire to tire

I managed to get them loose by hitting axel end but is there some method to getting the whole thing to slide on the axel

Back out all the bolts as far as you can without removing them completely
Sounds like it's in a bind, if still won't move you may have to take the bottom wedge out
I've cradled the wheel gently with pallet tines before and carefully lifted and reversed if that helps

Forgot to mention, make sure wedges are both fully pushed back against the bolt heads, hub can still be attached to wedges but it needs to be sloppy loose before it will slide, even then due to the weight of the wheel it will require some coaxing

I’ve got outer loose but inner still seems stuck on shaft
