Massey Ferguson 130 4P hydraulic problem?

Hello,

I am facing a little problem with my MF 130 hydraulics.

Normally, in standard tractors, you can set the position of the arms, for example, in the middle of their height without accelerating the tractor.
In my MF 130 I noticed that when moving the lever of the arms and setting the position in the middle I need to press gas pedal. For example, I am having a lawnmower in the back, I am driving on road, I do not want to lift it to the highest position, so I need to 'match' the RPMs to the height. Is it normal in MF 130? If I press gas pedal to the maximum, the lifter goes to the maximum of height, while having arms in the highest position, releasing gas pedal, arms go down.

Another example : The acceleration is on full capacity, I am setting the lever in the middle position, the arms goes in the middle but while releasing the pedal and tractor is idle, the arms go down.

I have disassembled top cover, I found the oil is yellow so it is going to be changed. I also noticed some grooves in the cylinder.
I am wondering if it is possible to apply remote distributor.

Can somebody help?

Hi
I restored a MF 2130 that I own a few years back which is the industrial version of the MF 130 and had the reverse problem that once up they wouldn't go down, luckily I have a tractor mechanic who lives nearby that used to work on the MF 130 as an apprentice and he took the top cover off and serviced it, it sounds like you have a valve letting by, I should mention while you have the cover off get the safety valve checked as this has caused a lot of damage to other owners of MF 130s
If I can help you further please feel free to contact me as now that I am retired I spent time buying and selling parts for the MF130 just to help other owners out, I do have a work shop manual and a parts manual, that if you need any pages sent to you I am quite happy to scan them for you, I also can date French MF 130 as well

Hi Bob
Are you still in a position to supply parts for the 130?

Thanks
