and the radiator went on , you might notice that the fan belt is missing ,
i have a new one there but its too small so ive a new one coming in the morning to finish her off ..
so thats it for this evening folks , we are getting there slowly but surely ,
have a load of zinc bits to go on the pick up hitch tomorrow so more photos to follow , thanks for looking .
the zincked bits can be a bit tricky , the extra coating leaves them a bit sticky and some holes have to be ran through with the drill and wire brush or taped out !!
got most of the pick up hitch assembled too but we ran into a problem with the adjustable leveling box on one of the lift arms , its too long and probably ment for a 148 or 165 but with a bit of ingenuity we will be able to get it sorted .
we wanted to start the tractor today to check her over for any leaks or the likes so i stuck on the new filters and threw a drop diesel into her and she fired up straight away with no heat or anything , keep in mind she hasn't ran for nearly 10 months and has been lying outside for a good part of that so we were well chuffed with the way she purred , i also got the proper fan belt and cover fitted and the air breather pipe and a few other bits !!
and finally for tonight we assembled the wheels and got them ready to go on , i didn't get a picture of the front ones but they came out equally well , ill have more pictures soon guys , thanks for looking .
morning avid tractor fans hope ye are all good ,
we had a busy but productive day yesterday , didnt get home till late so only uploading pictures now ,
we started off by getting the mudguards ready to fit , we put on all the original trunking for the wiring and some of the light fittings ( the back light and plough lamp will be fitted once the mudguards are on the tractor ) .
so then it was time to fit the muguards and brackets ,
a fiddly barsteward of a job on a freshly painted tractor with two mudguards , four brackets lots of zincked bolts and nuts and several packing plates to line up without scratching anything !!!.
so that's it for today guys , hope you like the progress so far , its starting to really take shape now .
we are hoping to get the wiring , glass in cab and doors , all the switches and wiper motor and other bits and pieces done by the end of next week so we are on the final stretch .
Good to see you back posting again @greendragon3,
Excellent workmanship as always! The zinc coating definitely sets projects like these off big style. Far too many men out there and tractors for sale that have been "restored" and everything just plastered in paint.
Keep the pictures coming, look forward to seeing the finished product.
