I actually like the approach towbar took better to the dutch kit- having to fabricate a bracket to the front axle seems like it would put all the linkages at a poor angle, plus it puts the cylinder and hydraulic lines in quite a precarious position unless you add skid plates.

It’s a lot cheaper too I think I paid €350 for the kit from a breaker and €70 the bracket to attach the ram. 2-3 hrs max to fit. Trickiest part is fabricating a bracket for the orbital.

Been watching this thread and noticed that your tractor is a petrol where most here are diesel with a gear driven pump, where as yours appears to be a belt driven pump.
You might look at getting a an orbital unit ram from a fork lift and fit that or if you want to use two single acting rams like MF used on the 699 or two double acting rams like ford and case used on their back hoes.......................................

Hmm, mine is actually a diesel. I believe the pump is gear driven.
I'm not too handy with a welder, so I'm trying to keep the fabrication to a minimum.
I appreciate the idea though :)

Hi - I have a MF 565 - power steering wont turn left or right. When I jack up the front wheels it turns ok. Any ideas what the issue is - Power steering pump shot maybe? Ed

Three main components to check.

1. Is there oil in the steering pump reservoir?

2. Is there pressure and flow from the steering pump?

3. Is the Orbitrol unit at the base of the steering column functioning?

Parts are reasonably priced. For instance, the main pump, complete, costs £300 or so. Orbitrol seal kit about £15 maybe.
