Massey Ferguson 240 battery removal with cab in place?

I need to replace the battery in my '79 Massey 240.
The front bar of the cab / screen runs across the top of the battery cover meaning that the battery won't come out as the gap is too small.

I can't believe the only way to change the battery is by removing the cab??

I've stripped of the bonnet tinware and I'm looking at removing the fuel tank. Is this the way forward or are there other problems I'm about to encounter?

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I cut the small lip (about 10mm) of the front of the dash with the grinder, our 240 is a scraper tractor and not a show piece tho

If you have another adult to assist it is possible ( after removing the bolts) to slide the MF 240 Cabcraft cab forward enough to remove or replace the battery. Working alone I remove the bolts and jack from below with a trolley jack enough for clearance to place a small scizzors jack under the cab frame on the rear of both fenders . This tilts the cab forward enough to give clearance for battery removal and replacement. Then lower both jacks slowly for removal before lowering the trolley jack. The cab should sit close to back where it should be but, if not, it can be slid easily to line up the bolt holes again. Put copper grease on the bolts to ensure that they are easy to slacken the next time. Check that the fuses are not displaced as the cladding stretch around them during the procedure can move them enough upset the lights etc. You will be aware that the previous MF135 QD had a similar Cabcraft cab but with a removable hatch below the windscreen. Handy in one way but the crossbar obstructed the forward view for the driver. As many of the 240s were for export the Q safety cab arrangement for the UK / Ireland seemed to be an afterthought and not well thought out or designed to help such a basic requirement as battery replacement. I will attach a picture and hope that this is helpful to you for getting the job done.
