Massey Ferguson 3635 Project

I've just bought a 1993 Dynashift 3635 as a project, I've a couple of electrical gremlins that I'm working my way through.
My first problem is that the 4wd is permanently stuck on. The light doesn't light on the dash at all. I've no power to the switch either. I've ran power directly
to the solenoid and it will disengage so I know its not a mechanical problem. All fuses are good and I've checked the wires going to the Autotronic box for corrosion, all wires looked ok
but I'm going to test with a multi meter. Is there anything else I can check or is it most likely a problem with the Autotronic box?
Also what do these switches do? The one circled in orange has been disconnected.
Thanks in advance.

Do your brake lights work?

Maybe your aware of this but 3000s and 61s etc MFs won’t be out of 4wd when stationary IIRC and only knocks 4wd out when moving incase you spend hours in workshop fiddling. You’re best bet is to rig a probe tester off the solenoid wire into the cab so that you can see what’s going on

orange is low oil pressure red is sensing that the gear on the end of the hyd pump is turning. the 4wd problem could be it thinks brake is on just check that the bulb is good first though
I will fix the brake lights and reconnect the oil pressure switch first.
Would the hydraulic pressure and 4wd light not coming on at all indicate there is no power coming from the Autotronic to the dash?

Good progress this evening I've got the 4wd to turn off. I fixed the brake lights and a bad connection going to the Autotronic. The PTO wasnt working either but I got that working too. The PTO makes a rattling noise at tickover is this normal on these or do I need to investigate?

is there movement up and down on the shaft. there is an internal bearing that holds the back of the stub, ours stoped rattling when we replaced it, we chenged the shaft to the 1000rpm and didnt know the bearing fell apart. common enough but not serious to sort.

on the plus side i was once told there was nothing on a 3000/61 series tractor that you couldnt get out in an hour, any problems i had this seemed true. could check the pto pack is tight as they come apart too-had that happen.

4wd will kick out at 9mph with autotronic

unless when you engage it you hold the 4wd button down for more than 2 seconds.

The early 3000 series didn’t have the 2 second override feature but in the sales blurb it was added for the benefit of Nordic country snow plough driver.
