If its on a splined shaft it will probably be a barsteward to remove.when i had one done on my case 590sle in my avatar we ended up removing all the front of the machine ahead of the pump

I ink it is the same as a 50b and I don't seem to remember any big problem
Fiddly yes
Drop pump need a bar to push it forward
Then make tool to undo the drive shaft, as OP said reverse thread
If you can get the proper socket put it on a nut runner which is best way to free it
