Massey Ferguson 6170 using power with the key switched off

Hi all,

I have a Massey 6170 and recently when i stop the tractor and turn of the key, some lights remain on on the dash. This causes the battery to drain. I have to disconnect the battery when finished. Pain in the neck.

1) Would i have a relay stuck that still hold power on on starter switch??
2) When i put the battery leads back on after disconnecting, no lights on dash and tractor starts fine.
3) Would the safety switch (starter) be gone?

Note: only issue is the tractor keeps power on. Some lads reckon its the computer (ECU).

Any ideas would be great.

Faulty 17 bar pressure switch on rh side cover . Or pressure not dropping off. Is the fwd rev lights flashing ?. Instead of disconnecting battery just pull out fuse for computer found inside the grille by the battery??

Took pictures this evening. These lights drain the battery after key is turned off.

The 17 bar system is holding pressure and keeping the autotronic awake. Once you have switched the tractor off put the ignition on and flick the pto brake on and off a few times this will check if the lights go out once the pressure has dropped

Thanks I believe the autotronic system is staying awake. Can I ask where the PTO brake is. PTO is yellow knob on right hand side. Any other way to drop that 17 bar system?

To work the pto brake you turn the pto knob the opposite way from turning the pto on

Sorry to be cruel (and offend the red pyjama brigade) but sounds like much software developed by MF, poorly tested and incomplete.

Tried this morning but no joy. Still holding lights on dash on after several efforts. Any other ideas?

Try removing the pressure switch on the right hand side cover and see what the lights do the switch might be faulty but be careful when unscrewing the switch if the system is still holding pressure

The hydraulic side cover on the side of the gearbox the switch is to the front side of filter will probably have a red dot on the end of it Just need to be careful if you remove switch that there is no pressure in the system

Just bought a second hand Mf7614, the lights on the piller with the ignition stay on after switching off, they eventually go out after an hour. Have other 7600s and never seen this.
