Massey Ferguson 6180 accumulator

If you know the part number, I find Franks Curtis very good for genuine parts. There quite a bit cheaper than my local main dealer and will deliver to my door for free (y)

Someone mentioned that Citroen use the same on the cars, at slightly different gas pressure? It will/should be stamped on the side of the accumulator
E-Bay have them

I think I got it online, farming parts or something like that. Will see if I can find email.
No didn’t make any difference
OK thanks for that,, I saw accumulators online for newer model masseys only. I read somewhere that the newer ones are set to 11 bar but need to be brought to a hydraulics specialist to set it to 9 bar for 6180 models etc, otherwise they won't work properly

I had an independent massey guy come out to look at it, He added some extra shims in the pressure relief valve under the bonnet. which did make things better. but not 100% right

Did you have clutch issues? The all or nothing clutch? When the oil is hot the tractor jumps forwards?

The relief valve under the bonnet, you mean the master cylinder for the clutch or?

Yes clutch was terrible, it was a small valve block on the left hand side of the bonnet. sure he said it was a pressure relief valve. i changed all the valves and bits in the valve block that is bolted to the right hand side of the transmission under the cab but made no difference.

I think its a case of splitting her when i get the time and enthusiasm to change the friction plates.

How many hours does she have? We got the same problem with our 6170. When the oil gets hot, she jumps forward.

If you got the solution, please let us know :).

Have you checked out if you have leakage on your 4wd pack

I put a 40 bar gauge on the same line as your accumulator is on and drive the tractor forward. Engage and disengage 4wd as you move and watch that the pressure doesn't drop when in 2wd. The pressure should be around the 17 bar mark
