All I might know is the 811 and 812 uses the simca 16HP engine
and 820, 821 uses a peugeot 20hp

What I have gathered so far...

First Pony, model 11 built in Canada from 1947-1954
Engine Continental N62 - 4cyl petrol 1030 ccm 12HP 3 + 1gear

In 1951, production of 811 started in France
In 1952, the cast iron frame was replaced with a welded steel frame
The original engine was too expensive abroad and was therefore replaced with the newer French Simca 8 engine.
4cyl petrol 1221ccm 15HP 3 + 1Gear (without water pump)
In 1952, the 812 model came with the same engine but the throttle has been moved up on the steering column
both built up to 1957-58
811 had throttle lever on the right side near the battery,
both have air intake up through the bonnet.

2nd generation of 812 built from 1954-57
born with a Simca 9 engine 1290ccm (with water pump)
The air intake no longer passes through the bonnet. But has been moved near the radiator to counteract icing.
Here also came the option of 5 + 1 gearbox.

All models are with manual lift
There can be 1 lift handle on the right side to operate the lift.
Or there may be handles on both sides of the tractor to lift each side of the lift separately.

Characteristic of the 811/812 is the distance from the steering colum to the tank where a small tool box may be built-in.

In the spring of 1957 (the same year that Ferguson came in) the 820 model came with a new engine, gearbox and lift.
It was available with either the newer Simca 9, a Peugeot 203 1.3ltr 20HP water cooled
or the Hanomag D621 - 18HP 2cyl 1.0ltr 2-stroke Diesel.
There was also a choice between manual or hydraulic lift.
all came with 5 gears.
The fuel tank has been moved back to the steering column and has been changed to a 30ltr tank
where 811/812 had a 26ltr tank.

In 1959, the now Massey Ferguson company replaced the 820 model with the 821 also called the 21
It came with differential lock and option to get independent PTO.
It was also available with 3 point hitch.
The bonnet could tilt. and the steering column is now completely encapsulated along with the tank and bonnet.
an 821 is somewhat reminiscent of the ferguson 26 but is still built on the frame.
The later models are also seen with gray rims where Massey Harris always had yellow rims.

Are there anyone who can add / correct something. You would be very welcome to do so.
This is just what I have been able to piece together, after a few days of reading through various websites.
(Thanks to JeepJeep for good info)
I do not know if anyone can use it for anything. But after being out and about, looking for an MHP a few different places.
It seems to me that people may be a little in unsure what exactly they own. And I have not been able to figure it out myself.

It was. We had one. Ran terrible. Had the injection pump rebuilt. Still ran terrible. Sold it. Could hardly pull itself along let alone anything else.
Found this piece of info:

Google translated from French:

The 21 or 821 is offered with the Hanomag two-cylinder engine practically identical to that of the 820.
It has an output of 20 hp at 1850 rpm.
A few remarks on this engine.
The engine with the same number of revolutions develops twice as many engine times with its two strokes than with four strokes, resulting in greater regularity of operation. This is achieved by bringing in the scavenging pump which blows the fresh air into the chamber while expelling the burnt gases. This blower is fragile and its lifespan is shorter than that. of the motor.
The exhaust is quite noisy.
Once heated with its candles it starts very well even in cold weather.

Just to add a couple of things which will be common knowledge to early MH/MF fans
The first number for model designation ie the 8 in the French built Pony 811 or the 7 in the UK produced 726/780 etc , designated country of Production. US models had no such number.
The engine for these tractors would be of local manufacture to get round import restrictions on foreign built machinery. Much of the early machines arrived as knocked down kits and many countries saw this as a deterrent to local manufacturer. Europe particularly was very concerned to rebuild their ravished engineering capacity, although suich restrictions had been used for years before the war

From seriel number alone.
I would have to say it is a 812 from 1952
serial numbers 3801-10000 was produced in 1952

In 1952, the cast iron frame was replaced with a welded steel frame

so I guess it is a early model 812.

Thank you,
Until finding this forum I kept hitting a brick wall on your theory it must be very early as the throttle is still on the right hand side,I’m pleased to say it runs like Swiss watch

Hi Lasse V
Thank you for your reply it’s a great help
Do you reckon that the early 812 had the throttle on the right hand side just behind the battery!

Hello all, we have a Paris Rhone starter for a Massey Harris pony tractor 6v, we don't know what model (see pics) we are after a drive for it, we bought one off Steiner website but it is the wrong drive, both of the drives they offer seem to be a redesigned/for the American models?? we are told that the starter fits a pony with a petrol paraffin engine (European model??). can anyone help with either information on the drives or possibly a place to source one it would be greatly appreciated. we would really appreciate any and all information anyone has and if you'd be so kind as to get in touch on +441952 879651 or on the mobile +447949494850. thanks again.
