Mastitis pre lambing

Hello, wondered if anyone could give some advice or pointers please!

I have a lovely pedigree texel gimmer due to lamb in the next few days, I've noticed tonight one side of her bag sadly is brick hard with mastitis, I've stripped off what little will come away a few times tonight and jagged with antibiotics and metacam. She's due twins and has been done exactly the same as my other ewes who havent had any issue so far, has anyone got a glimmer of hope or advice what to do to try and salvage something of her bag?
Poor bugger :(

I expect she's lost it , but I massage udder mint in over a few days, helps to get some of the swelling out , at least might be less painful for her and more willing to let lamb suck.

I had a Charollais ewe the same in December. Lambs off and turned her out with the culls. Her bag was brick hard but no heat from an infection, so didn't see any point in treating.

On the plus side, she didn't lose any condition and will make a good cull ewe, if the trade ever turns round...

Had a maiden shearling ewe last Saturday with mastitis! 6 weeks off lambing. Very frustrating.
I would think catching them and milking out/rubbing the udder daily would be more painful/stressful than just giving a jab of pain killer and leaving them to get on with it.

Thanks all, she's quite happy to stand and let me strip small amounts of whiteish fluid frequently it's softer today and she's chewing her cud looking quite unperturbed, will keep going at it and see if we have any more improvements. It's always the best bloody ones!
