It’s not even giving half a litre.

+1 I’ve got 3 cows I’m treating that are doing just this, I’m thinking that the cold beast from the east 6 weeks ago hasn’t helped as 2 of the 3 have calved this week and were dried of first week of March.
I think your cow will either start milking again on that quarter in the next day or 2, or either stay a dud and won’t start milking again til she’s calved again

Jagged for ecoli as I thought it was that with having no milk atall. . Temp norm. She did go lame same day as mastitis but that can’t be it.

We just give anti inflammatory pain relief, pump with fluids 2 or 3 times a day and udder mint infected quarter. Also half litre of prop glycol

Only do this for e coli. Strep/staph type mastitis still get anti inflammatory + antibiotics and also fluids, glycol, udder mint etc

My new tactic this winter, tube very begrudgingly now
Same, we used to go through boxs and boxes of tetra delta. Haven't bought a box of tetra delta for more than a year, i tube affected quarter with anti inflammatory and uddermint, case closed. Very few return with mastitis in the same quarter either, it's as if she builds her own immunity with out antibiotics

do u end up with a cell count in that quarter and does this only apply with e coli mastitis

No the cell count is ok, sometimes we have our fair share of mastitis and tank cell count hasn't went above 200 since last September. Ye that's how I treat ecoli, the worst ones I give a course of betamox into the the muscle.
what anti inflam do you use into the quarter?

Heres my current treatment for bad mastitis where theres milk loss/ hard quarter: Ubrolexin tubes + Marbox + Loxicom.
If i catch the cow early i can usually save the quarter and it eventually returns to normal milk.
Streptococcus has been the bug we seem to get. Easy to kill but its the damage it does if not treated quick.
Not had an Ecoli cow for a long time, that used to turn a 50 litre cow into a dry cow almost overnight!

The best thing I did for mastitis was stop keeping replacements from cows that have ever got mastitis.

And agree, cows that get bad mastis, anti inflammatory and fluids are the key.
