Matbro TS270 Loss of Forward / Reverse.

Our Matbro has lost drive. It feels like it's out of gear. I was driving along then all of a sudden nothing !
I have checked......

All Fuses ( All OK )
Tried starting with lever in forward or reverse. ....... It wont as it shoud.
Checked the reverse light was on in reverse .... it is !
Checked the handbrake was off............. it was


When you press the clutch button on the gear lever I can hear the relay click in the dash. But haven't checled that yet. but I'm thinking a relay somewhere .

Any idea folks ?

Quickest way, is the prop shaft off the engine to the transmission spinning round when its running but not in drive?
If it isn't spinning then the transmission pump/converter lugs has failed on the back of engine.

If it is spinning then pull the plugs off the gearbox solenoids and test for power when in drive, if you dont have it check the dump circuits.

Does it have the inching button that isolates the drive when the brake pedal is pressed, debris under the brake pedal can cut the drive.

Also check handbrake switch.
mine once had same issue and it was the dump button wires on the headstock rubbed through at the bottom of the gearstick. But you say the relay is clicking so unlikely in your case

Found the problem in the daylight. Universal joint on the drive shaft. I'll pop some pics up later

Late model TS270 Thats lucky cause the earlier chassis is a right pig to get at that UJ
