welding anything on the end will have to be small enough to slide a new bearing over. Sods law it will go once you weld to the end of the shaft.
Its a good baler, does all i need to do.That would be my opinion on the 250 but that doesn't help you much.
Was a farmer had a combine with no reverse unblocking on it, he put a engine ring gear on it then used the starter motor from the same engine when he wanted to unblock it.
As long as its under 50mmwelding anything on the end will have to be small enough to slide a new bearing over. Sods law it will go once you weld to the end of the shaft.
Just get a bit of threaded bar the same thread as the nut and screw in then attach a new nut thats not rounded and lock both nuts together. You should then be able to get a long socket over both nuts and use a standard bar.The nut is rounded
I think i will cut the nut off and weld on a 540 spline as the big splines seem far from common
Do you have an unblocking lever for jd?
20spline is a bigger Pot shaft than normal pto shaftIts too big, 50mm across
I thought of that but its 2 inches acrossView attachment 992441
These are sometimes handy for making farmer fix machinery improvements..
