That would be my opinion on the 250 but that doesn't help you much.

Was a farmer had a combine with no reverse unblocking on it, he put a engine ring gear on it then used the starter motor from the same engine when he wanted to unblock it.
Its a good baler, does all i need to do.
Its the unblocking lever thats a piece of sh!t
I am going to weld a 540 spline on and use a small hydraulic motor or connect it to a tractor pto to unblock it.
Putting in a drop floor is possible too

The nut is rounded
I think i will cut the nut off and weld on a 540 spline as the big splines seem far from common
Do you have an unblocking lever for jd?
Just get a bit of threaded bar the same thread as the nut and screw in then attach a new nut thats not rounded and lock both nuts together. You should then be able to get a long socket over both nuts and use a standard bar.

As mentioned; just weld on the biggest 3/4 drive or even inch drive socket you can find under 50mm od and then use a breaker bar or even ratchet, then it will always be in the best place for doing a ‘full pull’. Spline route will be awkward, heavy and expensive imo.

These are sometimes handy for making farmer fix machinery improvements..
