Matching 183 boards

Aft, I came across a pair of virtually brand new Kristeel 183 boards but they don’t match, not even close.
I have another pair that are worn very badly especially on the fronts where the bolt goes through, these of course are like two peas in a pod and match beautifully.
Question is do people heat and match one board to another, I did hear of a place in wales that does this but unsure how true it is?
Or is there anyway of repairing the fronts on my old set? Did think to cut the fronts off the other boards and weld on but seems sacrilege to cut up a pair of new boards despite them not matching.
Or do I just keep my eyes open for another set or plough.
Ideas?

Blimey, not content with upsetting Ferguson with mods, your now here wanting the Ransomes guys 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍

Not sure about heating and bending to match, never done it myself,
On the used boards, trim back to weld a haybob tines across the front edge for wearing part, weld 3mm flat plate through pre drilled holes in plate to under of side of board bent and shaped to fit, if worn on disc face of board, weld haybob tines up side to refurbish and replace profile and fill small gaps with mig

Yes it’s where the front bolt goes through, looks like it has been used proud of the share hence the wear. Do you bother with the riveted spacer or just steel plate shaped and just weld to the back of the board? Also do you still use the mid stay or not? The one the rear board support bolts to on the back of the frog?
No more Fergie for me I’m afraid, pretty much hounded out by the ploughing Co ordinator. Onwards and upwards!!

Don't bother with the riveted spacer, it needs to be cut off, so you can get some meat in the plate your putting on the back for the bolt to get hold of,
Yes still use the middle stay to support the board in middle, and a cat O top link to back of board instead of the original adjustable,
The board will be to low at front with no spacer in it,
So get a bit of lead, to replace the riveted spacer
it's soft enough to hammer to shape, but firm enough to hold and support the board at right height

When I replaced my repro boards with new old stock YL183K boards they did match up perfect with each other, as best as I could see with the riveted spacer in place. There certainly didn't seem much wriggle room when I mounted them on the frogs, they basically sat flat where they needed to be. I think I'd hold out for a decent pair that match up...

I ended cutting off the front of one new board and welded it to the remainder of the old one. The two new ones were miles out, 3” at the tail if you put them together, none of them matched the old boards.
They will get me by I’m sure for now, will keep my eyes peeled for a decent pair.
Seems you were lucky with your set but I’m amazed how different the new ones were, guess that’s why they had barely been used!
They came on a Robin I picked up for £450

Me and Rob Simmister bought two pairs of new old stock off Mark Weston a good few years ago, all four seemed to match up well.
