how did you bleed the brakes??

To bleed air from brake system, open both bleed
valves 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Install to each bleed valve a length
of 5 mm (3/i6 in.) ID clear plastic tubing. Place the other
ends of tubing into transmission oil filler tube or into a clean container. Start
engine and operate at low idle speed. Using smoothjawed
locking pliers, clamp off brake return hose as
shown in Fig. 164. With tractor running, brakes system
will "power bleed" itself. When no air bubbles are seen
in the plastic tubes, brake system has been properly
bled. Tighten bleed screws and remove plastic tabes.
Stop engine and remove locking pliers.

If I may jump in?

I have a 5130 and the left hand brake is binding a little, I didn't know about this bleeding technique so thought there maybe something else I should know that may help?

Many thanks.

Daddypig- I've worked on a few of the older models- 885 etc and had a very similar problem. Above the brake master cylinder was a small reservoir bottle with metal tubes inserted up into it. Over time these work their way down so the reservoir cannot hold any oil and the "pedal" goes from your brakes. Cure is simple, push pipes back up in or replace bottle. I have absolutlely no experience on the maxxum range though so stand to be corrected but it could be worth a look, if only to rule it out?
