We did 5150,6600,6180 and 8340 comparison in classic tractor many moons ago. Would be good to refer to
No heavily ballasted JD first iirc. They should have thrown the weights off all of them to make it fair.JD first, MF 2nd, Case 3rd, ford last?

Sorry can't agree with you when on draft work.More ballast requires more hp to push it along....so it kind of equals out to a fashion
Can't honestly remember now. I'll try look it out sometime. Would be in at least 10-15 years ago

Don't worry, he told me yesterday that pulling 22ton on the flat is equal to pulling 11ton uphill.....Sorry can't agree with you when on draft work.
That's fair comment and quite understandable. Especially given @rorsday comment on the subject of locating tractors in another thread. Throwing the Mx and 60 series in would have just muddied the waters even further. It was a job to get them all together then. And the JD owner was v kind to loan it. Hence we didn't fiddle with it too much. But you are right ! Maybe a Mx 120 and 8360 should of been thrown in the mix ?

If its a full scale test, ie roadwork and draft work...then it is balanced out as the heavier tractor is more sluggish...
you cant base a test purely on draft work
Sorry i'm not wanting to get into further arguments with you tonight. So won't commentary more on the ballast subject. Other than to say i know what works for me. Ballast on for draft and ballast off for roads. If its a full scale test, ie roadwork and draft work...then it is balanced out as the heavier tractor is more sluggish...

What is 2 tonne less than what?It is when the tractor is 20hp less and 2 tonne less in weight
but then you can tell youngsters anything these days
