Not judging folk but would say is not ideal haymaking weather, warm, humid, no wind plus young sappy grass ??
Sweltering heat here and, having missed every bit of the promised rain last week, the ground is still absolutely dry. Usually at this time of year, any 'hay' will be drawing moisture up from the ground.
It would want to be a light crop to make though I'd have thought, not an old crop with lots of stems to dry out.
