The cost of these things is ridiculous. I fancy one but the cost of them over a conventional round baler is crazy in my opinion. I understand the fusion is a bigger unit, axles etc. But some of the others like lely tornado are just mounted on back door.

A combi should be cheaper than a baler and wrapper cause only 1 drawbar,1 axle(fusion,jd,lely), 2 tyres instead of 4, 1 controlbox, 1 machine leavin manufacturer for thier profit cut, 1 machine for haulage and 1 machine for dealers profit cut. So why is it dearer? As for the £1 per bale that would be about right as the first owner will take the greatest hit and presumable the machine will have less parts replaced as the next owner will have to buy

I was going to say roughly knock off a pound for each bale on the count from the purchase price!!
So what happens when a Fusion hits say 50000 bales?
the first 20000 bales will probably costs more than a pound a bale and after that It may well cost considerably less than a pound an bale.
I personally think condition, condition and condition ways a lot on any baler as one that looks like it’s been smashed to bits and unloved and unserviced even with a low bale count will always have higher depreciation than an up together higher bale count models and a well looked after fusion will still give good service with a hundred thousand plus bale count

That's eye watering 😳

Do you know what a v660 is now days? They seem to have jumped up ridiculous amounts since we bought 3 years ago.

What are people charging per bale to make that pay?
Balein round here is around £7 plus another £1 for film or double wrappin. We usually get it done with net and single wrap but out of the double wrap or film option id rather have the double wrap

V660 is 30 something now. I priced one last year. Ridiculous in my opinion.

I charge £3/bale. Silage, 4.5ft straw. Not much at it.

So could still get a v660 and like a Kuhn 4014 for same money as a fusion.. hard to justify a fusion unless you're a 1 man band I suppose.

£3/bale wrapped silage? Surely not, losing money at that 🤔

Do you know what your speaking about?

A fusion and a v660 are both made by McHale. So why would a v660 be same price as a fusion?

£1 for double wrapping (4 layers?) Is pretty cheap, we do 6 layers and wrap alone is £2 a bale, before diesel, time..

Some of our customers would keel over at £10 a bale.. but that's probably where it should be

Wrote this earlier but for some reason it didn’t post. Most points been covered since 🙈🙈

Well I’m sure that one as a plus was around £60k new so going on other suggestion of £30-35k the pound a bale is not far off. It will level off as with everything as the count goes up.

Would you buy a new one with warranty etc or a one year old with 10k on clock for £9-10k less loosing out on the 0% etc etc?

Sure someone said a new plus was either £69k or £74k new this season? Plus adds what £7 or £9k?
