McConnell control switches

Anybody got a sorce for McConnell control box switches like what was on a PA93 back in the early ninetys, or is it a dealer job? Even something similsr would do.

Have a cable controlled PA500 here which got new cables a few years back & 2 of the 3 are sticking.
Have a electric 4 port valve chest sitting here from a beet harvester & plan to put it on the hedger, been thinking of doing it this past couple of years, cables don't really suit modern tractors as can't close the back window, & I have the block sitting, or is there a reason not to??

Looking at it it should work, the slew is on a separate block and I plan to leave it alone.

You may struggle if they are not proportional is my thinking but the original boxes were non proportional maybe ,weren't they called something like bang boxes

Yeah they would be non proportional, I used a PA 93 back in 91 for a contractor & it wasn't either, that was kinda the time of the changeover from cable to electric & all the hedger men were complaining about the lack of feathering, was men doing the fields with the new hedger & using the old cable one for the roads.
I just kinda flicked the controls to get round the feathering issue, but these days there is flow control on the spools which helps,

That looks like a Kontak spool valve but has it got the correct spools to operate had cylinders?

They both have 1 single and the rest double.
i intend to try it as is with the switch box that’s on it, will only need a few fittings and probably have them.
then if all works I’ll look for switches to make up a box.

Had a bit of time today so went and got a few fittings just before closing time then set about putting it together.
It worked first time which is very unusual for me.

just need to fit a few restrictiors in the lines to slow it down a bit, and tidy the plumbing up a bit.

So just to finish this off...

Rang the dealer & got told there was nothing simple, so went down the diy route.

Got a joystick from RS to see what I was getting, then got 3 more, & a simple waterproof box from the leccy wholesale place & started putting it all together.

Then join it all up, wanted it so I could switch things around a bit

just had to put a few restrictors in the rams to slow things down a bit

yet to use it but should work ok, have one of those powerfull magnets bolted to the base of the box so makes it a bit more moveable

A relay board would help prolong the life of the new switches.
