McConnell hedgecutter stabiliser ideas

Hello, got a hedgecutter temporarily on a 3 point linkage on my jd 6930 which has done a fair bit and the linkage isn’t as tight as it once was, wondering if anyone’s got any photos of things they have made and fitted to there’s to stabilise it further. Top link of some sort from the pickup hitch is the main idea I’ve seen.

appreciate any photos of ideas Thankyou!

There are a few types depending on the age and size. Could you axle mount it ?
Not at the moment no swapped tractors so had to take an axle mounted frame off it and replaced it with this, just for now it’s got to be ran on a 3 point linkage for ease for a month or two

weve have just taken delivery of our new McConnel and we went for there 4th hitch stabiliser and it’s definitely worth it on our 6930. No movement at all.
Yeah the 4 hitch stabiliser looks like the way forward for dropping On and off quick and they look stable

We was a bit sceptical but Dave Alviti said everyone who’s had one always has another. So I thought I would give it a go. Definitely paid off site perfect even at full reach

Haven't just seen one on a tractor yet but can't figure why the draw bar hole doesn't just swivel on the pick up hook....

We bought a second hand trimmer a few years back and this is how it was when we viewed it.

I think it's because the machine doesn't rotate around that point directly the more you extend the reach of the hedgetrimmer. It wants to move sideways as well. Our own John Deere has a bit of linkage slop and looks fine when folded for transport but the linkage will swing away from centre the more you extend the trimmer arms. This looks like its designed to prevent that happening by keeping the machine perfectly in centre line of the tractor. I have a ratchet top link that is fixed diagonally from the pickup hook to the hedgetrimmer frame. It works fine even though its a bit awkward to fit, but definitely sits better at max reach.

Yes that’s what we’ve got it just bolts under the a frame and the hook slides in and out and to be able to put it on then you just tighten a wing nut once it’s on the linkage

I took the waltershit auto stabiliser off and the sprung bounce stabiliser off the other side on my 6125 R and replaced them with the SE type stabilisers that can actually be wound tight on to an implement so arms can no longer wave side to side and this will stop a lot of the rocking motion for hedge cutters. Cheap n easy solution 🤷
