McConnell rhino gearbox

Any cheaper source of an outer gearbox for a 9 ft rhino? Can't believe McConnell make them and I can't find a make or number on it. Thanks

It’ll either be a Chinese made box or one of the Italian jobs. Lots of toppers and mowers now fitted with Chinese made “boxes on them. Even my Spearhead has a 200hp splitter box made by Walterscheid in China!

Either that or have a trawl through the Comer and Bondioli & Pavesi boxes on Kramp and see if your local dealer can source on stock order arrangement.

By the time you add the postage it's more than the McConnell dealer wants. A part number and make are the key but I've had no luck so far other than USA I think it's a Bush hog

I'll be seeing gearboxes in my sleep. I've gone through every comer one I can find and nothing seems to match ( six bolt mountings for a start ) . eBay usa have one listed that is made by ITG that replaces McConnell part number but the trail has gone cold. Looks like genuine after all

Give that guy a call on Monday, so far as I can remember it’s not a comer box.

The price will be almost half of ‘genuine’

I had a gearbox straight from comer for a kverneland bale chopper for £110 when kverneland price was about £400 so the potential savings are worth it, just not had any progress so far

I think it’s a Chinese made walterscheid. Part number here from one I had. Deciphering it may be another matter

We have a limited number of shop soiled Walterscheid gearbox’s in stock which would fit a lot of the McConnel and bomford toppers.
