Anyone know what timber the pitman drive stick should be made from on one of these?

They are made from ash. You will need to find a woodyard who can supply genuine and make sure the grain is nice and straight.
I can remember making them 50 years ago as genuine ones were too dear, don't think father ever took labour into account!

Are the 910 mm long? How much are they?

My Dad made one out of Ash .
Think old operators manual here somewhere for the model.

Yes, definitely made of Ash, strong & flexible. Morgan cars use Ash to make their frames.
