McCormick MC 135 blue smoke

Have done valve seals and recon Turbo, drives ok but smokes but not all the while, blue smoke cummins engine.
Any idea what could be wrong, thinking it might be glazed bores and hard work might sort? injector pump done and returning 140hp on shaft.

Probably better to ask in Machinery thread. Have you check cold start valve not leaking in inlet manifold? If it’s got one. Although blue smoke is normally oil burning.

Smokes when idling, at half load or full load?
Sounds like bores if the injectors etc having been done. As you say, try working it hard for a day.
Does it breathe heavy through the sump? Have you compression tested the cylinders on the starter via the injector holes?
The only other thing I know of recently is that since switching to winter diesel my engines seem to run a lot cleaner.

Mc135 was Perkins engine was it not? Have you checked the cold start/inlet manifold for excess deisel in there?
