Mccormick or landini?

Evening all, my first post so please be gentle.
Thinking about getting a budget tractor around 130hp. Duties will be running a destoner, bit of trailer work etc.
I'm drawn to either a McCormick mtx135 or a landini land power 135 due to minimal electronics and there being a few second hand examples to choose from.
I'm looking at machines with about 4-5 thousand hours on.
What are peoples opinions on my shortlist? It's a massive investment for me so trying to do as much research as possible.
Thanks

What age are the mtx's your looking at? I haven't had anything to do with them since they linked with Landini.

The dairy farm I used to work at, had a year old mtx on hire for a season. The gearbox packed up during maize cart.

The next season we had a year old xtx 185 on hire that failed during first cut silage, again gearbox problems. This was replace with an xtx 200 that was little better, but didn't fail completely.

I haven't met anyone around our way, who has a mccormick who likes them really.

The local dealer became a Case dealership after only a few years with Mccormick. So I haven't seen any of the new Mccormick/Landini tractors.

Our contractor had two, never lasted very long and had expensive gearbox trouble. A 135 and a 185 I think. The older proper case 135 was a better machine.

My neighbours have one of the last old case 135s, and its been a good tractor to them.

You here horror stories about any make of tractor. Personally l'd go with the Mtx, got 2 Mc115 here one with 4000hrs the other with 6000hrs have owned them from new and serviced on the recommended intervals. Been very reliable (touch wood) and same backend as Mtx, the betapower engine is meant to be better than the Perkins on the Mtx. If they still made them new, I'd buy a McCormick again.More mcccormicks sold back in the day than landini, so parts more readily available and more fitters know their way around them.

I bought a new Landini 165 in 2015 because of the lack of electronics and simplicity in nearly 9000 hours we have had three clutches three hydraulic pumps two pto packs and housings and a complete shuttle gearbox plus three cab fans and two air conditioning compressors. It probably is the worst tractor i have ever had unfortunately no one wants to take it off my hands.

Is that tractor a wet or dry clutch?

I looked at buying a new Landini many years ago so always took interest in looking at any at the market etc.
I don't know about their mechanics but they really don't look like they age well.
I went to a dealer with the intention of buying one only a few years old and I'd never seen a newish tractor so corroded.

Thanks for the replys guys, looks like landini is to be avoided, was considering them because I have a good dealer backup near by ( agars)
I'll concentrate on finding a good mtx, is there a certain year or spec to be avoided?

They’ll get used to gearbox problems if they’ve gone to case then

There is a Landini dealer just up the road from me but i have not spotted one working around these parts yet !
Problem with new McCormick and Landini is that they aren't cheap enough when compared to (proven) competition. Can't say anything about build quality or overall reliability.

Friend has just had a x7.660.On paper it should be fine. Beta/ Cummins engine ,zf transmission, carraro axle. I know there's plenty of potentially troublesome parts but it was roughly twenty grand less the others he priced( not necessarily equivalent spec I know ) partly due to the dealer having it in stock at pre-increase price

U cant buy anythin thats not gonna have potential problems from premium brand to bargain bucket, however the new mccorrmick tractor is as good of a bet as any of the rest out there, only problem is possibly resale value but if kept for 6 years plus its not gonna be any more than 20k less than the other brands and very likely be more like 10k cheaper which leaves u quids in plus u had cheaper payments all along
