Priced one against a Puma 240 cvx and they were the same price new to as close to the same spec as possible but the puma is better put together and a nicer place to spend the day.

Ag profits are shyt because people are spending their incomes on unnecessarily expensive main brand machinery instead of looking at cheaper alternatives which might leave them a bit more profit....... probably
Have just read all the Post's on this thread and this one sticks out👍
Nobody on here has mentioned anything that seems relevant to me about a new tractor ,what about fuel usage servicing costs warranty length etc etc
Basically value for money and suitability to your farm and equipment
Just my opinion

seat would not go back for a tall person
My biggest gripe with all modern vehicles. I’m six foot four and built like a barn, I looked at a John Deere 6130r before ending up buying a Claas Arion 530. The seat in the JD needed to go back a lot further than there was room for, I also looked at the larger Kubotas and the cab was woeful seat needed to go back at least another 2 inches and the quality of the seat wasn’t up to much either it was at the cheaper end of what Grammer make.

Have to agree with the JD comment. We have a few 6M and all their seats I feel need to be able to move back more.

I have heard a few comments about the cab sitting to low on the Mccormick/being to "short"

School boy error- get a look in a Valtra cab. Enough space for anyone.

Was busy demoing an X7.624 to various customers recently and it was very well received. People liked the comfort, power and ease of use. Like everything people had a few little niggles but overall very good. And customers had existing machines from a wide range of mainstream brands.

More good stuff to come with the upgrade to tier V engines 👍
This is probably a stupid question but is there actually a benefit to owners when engines are upgraded according to emissions etc. There's loads of quotes on here about remapping and deleting crap to get the tractors going well. All old school stuff here yet so no experience

Was referring to other changes being made to the models when they release the new tier V versions rather than the emission changes being the good stuff. New emissions regulations are what they are. They're there for environmental improvements, not customer improvements. That said the new FPT tier V engine is a cracker. Plenty of people couldn't believe it was only 240hp when they tried it. And other than an odd Adblue issue "when people have got crud in the tank" we haven't seen any real emission related issues.

There is a significant difference in exhaust emissions which if compared to 90’s machines is very obvious when in a shed or hitching up. Even when working hard, most older tractor Suck in fumes. designers insisted on cab air intakes directly behind the exhaust pipe.. Feeling rough at the end of the day? Fumes in the cab don’t help..

Yes no doubt healthier beasts but seems a lot of niggly troubles with all makes that 99% of the time are caused by adblue system,EGR,dpf etc

Not sure about others but the tier V FPT as fitted in the Mccormick X7 has allowed the service interval to be extended to 1000hrs, helping reduce running costs. Definitely a plus 👍
