Think this has been brought up before but I want to install a permanent air line away from the compressor .
Theres loads of old black pipe in the sheds here that have all the fittings to get from 1/2inch bsp malleable iron onto the black Mdpe .
I can get reducers to go from 1/2 - 1/4 PCL but will mdpe be ok for air pressure ,,compressor is a 150ltr ,10 bar max ,
Presently have a long 8mm rubber pipe to where I use it most but as a fixed pipe ,Im thinking the 1/2 inch would have more volume

Yes go 3/4" or 1" if you have the pipe, it will act like a small tank, right beside where you want the air.

Edit:
Tie it well to the wall so it can't recoil if you do get a weak spot.

Usual trick is to put a slight fall towards the end of the run and fit a drain or water trap as there will be condensation in the pipe. If you are fitting multiple outlets then putting a drain at each outlet is advisable too. Every few months you should also run some antibacterial fluid through to ensure that Leigonella is not lurking around.

Had some blue 20mm up for 10 yrs been fine.
If you are going to use MDPE it should be the UV stable black variety for above ground.

I've been using blue plastic water pipe in my workshop for air line for past 4 years without any problems just fit the fitting for taps on the wall and screw in a fitting reducer down to the air fitting size you need its great
