Meat: a threat to our planet.

Has anyone tweeted that pansy Vine?

Sent an email yesterday pointing out the rediculous Packham con of paying the woodland trust 1.50 per tree on 100k trees which should cost far less than 50p a tree. Then pointed out 100k trees was a rediculous number when in the next 5 years we will lose 90 million Ash trees through Ash dieback.
No response but then I did not really expect one.

He was also bashing on about it this morning on his channel 5 programme but in a more subtle way by letting his co-presenter who is much younger report the vegan anti meat stance by referring to the BBC documentary programme earlier in the week. Final comment by the co-presenter was that she was veggie before the BBC documentary but now totally anti-meat.
Case of a brain washed BBC presenter now able to contaminate other channels in this case channel 5.
I was considering "liking" the radio 2 FB page and then literally bombarding Vine with all facts, figures and alternative science I have saved for such occasions. Probably end up getting blocked.

Probably meant as a joke, but doesn't come across well in writing I'm afraid.
I don't agree with what @Northeastfarmer put but how many farmers will these know it all, ill informed, idiots like packham end up putting out of business or worse with their lies and half truths, their are plenty of farmers that wouldn't take much pushing I would think, we don't interfere with his business, the likes of him and plenty more of these jumped up so called famous prats want to learn to shut their fecking mouths till they can get their facts right

That may well be true. But I still wouldn't wish for his family and friends to deal with the after-effects of suicide. Or the friends and family of anyone else for that matter. Untimely deaths are most difficult to deal with. That's all.

I had a look at the "fact checker" section of the BBC website today as I was surprised/appalled by the general lack of knowledge of the politicians taking part in yesterday's C4 Environment Election debate-the speaker for Plaid Cymru being the only one to point out that grassland was a good carbon sequester.

The "fact checker" quoted the recent UN report that said a balanced diet was better for the environment (the extract being in quotation marks) but then the article went on to define what was considered to be a "balanced" diet-less meat & dairy more veg. Now, at a quick read it came across that the definition of a balanced diet was from the UN report, whereas it was just additional text added by the article writer-a prime case of opinion masquerading as fact! And the BBC slate political parties for "doctoring" news clips for their own benefit!

The article on "fact checker" then moved onto which forms of transport are less damaging-using info from aircraft manufacturers to demonstrate the carbon emissions of air travel, rail companies for rail travel, shipping lines for sea travel etc etc. Rather like asking the Pope to give an unbiased appraisal of Christianity! Perhaps the Beeb will soon announce Ken Clarke's appointment as chief political correspondent.

It would be funny if it were not for the fact that thousands of people will look at this site and believe what it says because unless you read it carefully, you wont see where the facts end and the opinions take over-or even where the information comes from.

Quite which is why I said I don't agree with NEF, what I was saying is that these people don't realise or don't care about the pressure they can put on already hard pressed farmers, at the end of the day they are paid well have plenty of money they don't have to worry they will be on to the next thing when they have successful fecked our businesses up and they won't look back.
Getting fed up with the verious idiots on the telly and other places having a fecking go and if they were stood in front of me telling up such 1t they may well learn some Somerset ish words they didn't bloody well know before

I feel another complaint coming on.
The BBC complaint system has crashed under the sheer number regarding the programme at the top of this thread and they are going to issue a standard reply to people rather than an individual response.
This is blatant manipulation of the facts as betweenthelines has demonstrated above.
With no sound science to support the sh!t they are constantly ramming down peoples throats at every opportunity this is basically persecution of a minority.
Surely somehow some form of legal challenge could be brought against them?
