Saw this on facebook, someone's kids school is doing meat free Monday and this is the banner for it.
How can this be countered?

Working out the water usage/carbon footprint of Greggs fake bake......or KFC's vegan burger....or such like would be a good start.

Or how about a Linda McCartney ready meal? After all did they not start Meat Free Mondays?

How much water does the fish in the fish and chips require to "produce" it?

Humans are responsible for 100% of Amazon rainforest destruction, species extinction, water pollution etc.

A dairy farm recycles its own waste....on its own property...by itself. A city of 411,000 people needs FARMland on which to deposit their waste.

I’m afraid I would lose my sense of humour if my children’s school tried this, I think I would keep them home and feed them myself.

I'd give them the choice of packed lunch Mondays instead. That's one major issue here - we are removing the element of choice from our children, and the ability for them to make up their own minds.

To me that's the most tragic element of it all. Brainwashing of young minds with inaccurate information, and telling them that adults know best. Let kids make their own choices.....they know what they do and don't want.

If you put every conceivable type of food on our little lads plate he will always choose the meat first. That’s not what I have taught him it’s what he prefers and it’s got to be better than over processed goo or sweets and fizzy pop! :scratchhead:

How about....

"Made from scratch Monday"
"Traceable Tuesday"
"We know where our food comes from and saw it being produced Wednesday"
"Three ingredients Thursday"
Field to Fork Friday" - "Farm visit and lunch Friday" - "Fresh Food Friday"

Get kids interested in the food they eat on a practical and real level. They love knowing about things, learning and seeing it all for themselves.

Be a darn sight better than any of these mass produced plant-based factory foods that don't resemble the basic ingredients they were made from and nobody has a clue what's in them.

Lots of info on here, write polite letter to school , try and keep it local.
Efa report into Eat - Lancet is worth including with your letter.
Schools don't like parents complaining about their school dinners, what are they replacing meat with? If its quorn , point out there's a health warning on the packet & its banned in several countries, if it's soya based explain it's one of the most destructive crops on the planet & they chop down rain forest to grow it.
My kids are now at secondary school & the misinformation just doesn't stop :banghead:
