Meat Substitutes Worst Junk Food

My kids have just come home after drinks with an English couple my daughter met on holiday. Apparently he is working on a project to convert duckweed to protein. All very top secret. No phones etc allowed on sight and no visitors allowed on sight apparently a competitor shared some info on social media that allowed them to jump forward six months. I’d say it’s not about the planet it’s about money.

Tried some oatly milk the other day, bleugh, but at least its oats, all 10% of it, then with added iodine and Ca to make it better for you again. I think I'll stick to lovely cow juice.
I tried some almond milk the other day for the first time, purely to see what it was like….it was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted…it was like poison

Had the displeasure of having some Asda sausages over Xmas, they ended up in the cat.

Convinced the reason supermarket sausages are so awful is so that when they slide the pretend ones in on the shelf, customers pick them up, cook them and think “they’re actually not that bad”.

I don’t know why people even doubt this.

Kerching!!!! £€¥₩$$$

Those pesky consumers in third world countries are going to be harder to leach, however, what with their strange habits of needing enough food to eat, and weird stuff like that, sort of fing, innit. :meh:

Because it’s washing over the population 24/7 through the media and no one is really questioning it. Because a majority of the population has no real interest in where their food comes from and because farmers just think anyone who isn’t a farmer is a bit thick so rather than addressing it in a way that combats the opposition view point they just believe that the world is just mental and sooner or later they’ll be back to good home cooked natural food as was always thus.

I’ve been watching an Italian tv programme on Amazon Prime called The Dinner Club. The host is the chef who appears on the Italian equivalent of Masterchef ( he is about as far removed from Greg Wallace as you can get, like comparing a dirty lump of chalk with the finest aged parmigiana-reggiano).
He has six guests, all famous Italian actors, writers, comedians etc. Every week the host takes one of them to a different part of rural Italy to find ingredients and recipes to take back and cook for the other five.
All the recipes contain meat, often offal, dairy etc. One of the most popular starters was lard, a big lump of pure fat no meat, sliced thinly, eaten with bread and salt. All the guests raved about it, indeed in the whole series no one said that didn’t eat meat, or dairy or they had stopped eating gluten.
Can you imagine the equivalent programme being made here with six actors ? It would have to be a complete woke-fest of farting cows and vegan sainthood.
Is it just in this country that people are so gullible and far removed from what they are actually eating that they would rather eat factory produced junk than any ‘real’ food?

Are you implying that anyone who either isn't a farmer or who does not want to be a farmer is not a bit thick then?

I think we’re the closest to the American blueprint of eating utter crap. I think we’ve now passed the 50% mark of processed food eaten as a nation. Appalling. And I think we’re probably leading the field in the trumpeting of vegan propaganda.
