So. Back to Aus (since this thread was about here). Qld is held up as another bastion of righteousness of how to deal with outbreaks by a lot of leftwing do gooders here. The short sharp lockdowns it has imposed in the past have worked. (Pre delta). Now theres 2 clusters reported in Brisbane. No lockdown at this stage. Why would that be you ask, given both Victoria and NSW have seen upwards of 800 new cases daily (nsw on the way down from over 1200. Vic on the way up).
Well call me and 20 million other people cynical.....But it might just have something to do with a little sporting event called the NRL grandfinal being held in Brisbane this SUNDAY night, and a sold out ticketed sun Corp stadium........What a hypothetical bìtçh the QLD premier is.....Of course now she has set the path up for the future....cant have anymore lockdowns now can she??? Bloody pathetic, self centered big noting mole of a thing she is.
Are they letting crowds into the Melbourne Cup meeting.? Held over a week isn't it? Cox plate etc?

Sajid Javid told a fringe event at the Conservative Party conference that he believed vaccine take-up in the UK was so strong that there was no need for the passport concept to be introduced as it had been elsewhere in Europe.

Confirmation that it's just coercion.

I can see a lot of countries dropping them.

Jacinda is mad keen for vaccine passports, we're supposed to have them in a few months. She says you wont have to show them for entry to essential services like supermarkets and pharmacies but it sounds like she wants it to be used in as many places as possible.
It wont be long before a jab is required by employers too, border workers already have to have it.
Air NZ announced the other day that it will be required for all international passengers.

Good grief

Probably slightly better than here, where you get locked up for 2 weeks.
I think positive cases in the community are still lifted and locked up too.

From the government website.
If you have COVID-19, or if there is reason to believe you might have COVID-19, then you will need to stay in a quarantine facility for at least 14 days.

They drag you off to a holding camp for having a relatively mild illness?! 😳😱

Why haven’t the peasants risen up and dragged the woman from office?

Assuming testing isn't compulsory there, surely no-one in their right mind would take a test if that was the possible outcome? Must therefore be messing up the monitoring efforts.

Maybe everyone is OK with it but I suspect its because its the peasants that are being locked up. I believe the current outbreak has a large number of Maori and pacific Islanders in it, many in overcrowded cheap housing. Once they start locking up business owners, teachers, farmers, cops and the generally more well off etc, I think you'll see problems.
They'll either be too many cases to do it or an exemption by then.

Not compulsory unless you're a border worker or crossing a quarantine border in the North Island. Companies are wanting to bring in rapid test though, so its coming. You are also supposed to have the app and sign in everywhere.
As to whether people do, I couldn't comment.

Well I went to the pub tonight to put up a few posters for a charity event and ended up having some grub. Unfortunately sitting next to a table of Kiwi Jacinda fans in their 60s / 70s. Slagging off the UK all they could. Had to go outside in the cold in the end to finish my pint. If they want to vote for a communist chick with a dick and create a prison state let them get on with it.

Out of curiosity who is Air NZ's biggest/majority shareholder?🤔🙄

Use the app and sign in everywhere, does that apply equally to Jacinda's Mob and Power mates distribution centres???🤔
