whats the best medium depth primary cultivator for heavy land, sumo trio leaves it too rough & bumpy,
need to go in about 100 to 150mm, deal with lots of trash & leave a seedbed like finish ?

FM on heavy land? Packer no good.

We pull an FG and in general the terrano will deal with trash and leave it more level than the solo. If its a bit clumpy, we just give it a 2nd pass as its quick and cheap.

Very pleased with my terrano Mt.
Leaves it as you want although my old discordon was a bit more aggressive but a good machine similar finish to a sumo I would think

what model of sumo are you using and what are you pulling it with? forward speed is the key if your not bothered about the legs on a sumo an old set of heavy discs towing a press may be your best option

Kockerling vario will cope with any amount of trash you put in front of it
And leave a level finish cheap to run and last you a life time
Ours is 16 years old and still does 2000 acres a year with no issues

never tried the trio set at a shallow depth, could be worth a try ?
Certainly be cheaper !

A sumo trio is meant to work between 100mm and 250mm. Why do people think that it should replace a genuine subsoiler.
