I have always wondered what the actual return is on all of these performance based products is. Considering the more we produce the greater the downward pressure on the price we achieve.

That is a very good question. And the answer is usually, that what is best for the individual farmer is not what is best for the industry.
But as long as we all can't agree on doing whats best for us all, we all have to do what is best for ourselves.

You might need an acid buff then better keep your cash in pocket and feed plenty grass

How do you value grass? How much dry matter can you make a cow eat and how much milk can you get in return?

I work with "milk money minus feed cost" as the number to improve all the time.

How much milk i get and what feed they eat and at what cost, is secondary.

I feed my cows a lot. Right now i spend about €4,4 to feed a milker per day. My milk minus feed result is about €8 per cow per day. Milk sold to Arla. I'm interested in how others do this and at what result.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Acid buff! Another thing Inna bag that comes on a pallet with massive margins....... don't need it!
Balance the quick fermenting carbohydrates with rapidly degradable protein and slower fermenting carbs with slower degradable protein correctly. You'll get to 12000 litres no problem. Without megalac and acidbuff!!!! It's not about mj/kg.

If that is true, i would like you to make my new tmr plan, as i can get more milk and save on expensive pallets.

That’s a great theory what if your silage is below expectations.

This is genius. The cow is a ruminant. So feed her loads of grain. Then wonder why every vegan eco warrior nut job wants to stop livestock farming.

Sorry Adam, your thread might take a wrong turn here, and all you wanted to do was sell a couple of pallets of megalac!

I will explain in detail later. I'm just a dairy with with cracked hands covered in muck, wearing dirty Dunlop wellis. I've worked it out that's all.
I'm not a consultant. I don't have a laptop.
I said feed the cow wheat to help it brake down fibre. Just don't feed, soya huuls, pk, distillers, wheat feed. I give them forage - to keep the ecoworriers happy! [emoji12]
It's the feed industry that has conditioned us to think the way we do!
