Sadly tonight I’ve learnt of the passing of fellow TFFer @Gator after a short illness

Whilst I’m no longer a moderator I came to really appreciate Ian’s contributions not least his ever popular thread as a go-to for sheep men “Coming home for lambing “

Always open and fair and a great contributor in the truest sense of the word

I’m sure all members will join me in extending our sincerest condolences to all his family and those who knew him

RIP

That's sad news.

Glad he stayed on and continued to post on Tff, when some others decided to leave. Who he was obviously friends with.

It's strange how you feel sad when a forum member passes away, feel like you know them, even though never met.

I am glad that you alluded to Carole and Landy ( I assume that is who you meant? ) as I imagine that they have been a help to @Gator and family recently and will be in the times to come. I wanted to add

When the snow is falling
Where do the sheep go?
When the primroses shine yellow
Where do the fears go?
We don't have time for fear
We lamb sheep
When summer comes?
We work our backsides off
We make hay whilst the sun shines
Sometimes we sit and enjoy
what we see and realise
how lucky are we.
Sometimes we think to hell with this
and other days it seems like bliss.
On the whole Gator knew his place in life
He had a wonderful daughter and wife.
He was a farmer to his core
Had his family farm, friends and needed no more.
Even though he needed no more every joke he made us laugh like ....................

Thank you and what I said in the OP was extending our sympathies to all Ian’s family

I’ve exchanged many a PM in the past , Ian was loyal and torn but continued to post and his one main thread Is testament to who he was as a farmer

That he came back and went on to post continually on one of the most followed threads hold him as the big man he was

RIP
