It's no different to a pub, a wide circle of personalities and humours all with their opinions. Except a pub doesn't have a grammar nazi :cautious:

I doubt anyone really gets offended to the point of leaving, Some things get taken the wrong way because it's printed word and impossible to tell the tone it's written in.

Other posts are clearly wrote with intent to ofend and it's shows how pathetic they are. Thankfully everyone can see these posts and it gives us all a chance to judge that character better.

*offend :whistle::ROFLMAO::D

People often get fed up with forums. I often think its like a party with people coming and going, some agree with, some you don't. You don't have talk or listen to them, but its often thought provoking to hear opinions different from your own.
I actually find this forum a breath of fresh air, and often laugh out loud funny. I have learnt a lot and I am still learning from people who have practical experience. It also has serious supportive side.
My advice is if you do not like how thread is going do not open it, if you do its like picking a scab, you will only make it bleed.
It would be sad to miss the brilliant 99% of this forum just because you do not get along with 1%.

Add a fair amount of this

folk come and go
read some old threads and you soon see some that don't post much any more
if you don't like some threads don't read them
if you don't like some members put them on ignore

A sprinkling of that

Threads like these make me crack a wee smile, they appear on EVERY forum.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and unfortunately sometimes these opinions differ from the next man.

People feel braver when sitting behind a keyboard so things are said on a forum that wouldn’t usually be said face to face. A bit like this thread really, I bet you wouldn’t stand up in a pub with thousands of people in it and shout ‘my mates are getting bullied so they aren’t drinking in here any more’

It’s forum life.

A dollop of this

I must admit that humour seems to have left the forum lately and posts are more raw and to the point.

a pinch of this

Mix well with the above, and it just about sums up forum life.

If you stick your head above the parapet expect with grace, at times, you will be shot at, please do not come crying.
If you post to be provocative or to create discussion, accept you may not like what you read, but the answers to the person writing will be just as valid to them as yours are to you.
Some things need moderating, but sometimes it is better to leave them as it gives new users a handle of another's way of thinking.
If you think flouncing off or a crafty name change will alter things you are wrong, your writing/attitude/opinions will always show through in the end.
Some should perhaps remember they are business men & women, and what you post may reflect on that.
If you want to leave, just dont sign in.

Accept we are all different, embrace it and we may all learn.

I went for a night out in Newmarket with him about 3 years ago after spending a year arguing on various Facebook groups and actually it was a really good night, just don't mention GPS
most members are fine when you meet them, I have met a few

I think the whole hiding behind a keyboard thing I a good thing in some ways it allows those that normally wouldn't speak out to say what they like without fear of getting a smack in the mouth for it and it also brings those that would do the punching down a peg or two

Good post
There is no need for someone to become aggressive/offensive/insulting, just because someone doesn't agree with your posts though. It's the "holier than thou righteous" attitude of a few posters which spoils numerous threads, then there are those with some hidden agenda/grievance who are just looking to cause trouble, for those of you who think you are "always right" I can assure you that you're not and you don't know everything
Swear words can be used in different ways it might be "fudge off I'm not going near that mad dog" or it could be used as an insult. Even though the swear filter on here changes swear words to amusing words, the intention is often clear, as the saying goes "if it quacks like a duck ........."
It might be time to remind members that there is a REPORT post button at the bottom of each post, there really is no need for insults etc, and it does put people of posting on the forum.

Yes there is, however, please do not expect that every time you(member) report something, it will be acted upon to your satisfaction, sometimes we read back, and find the member doing the reporting caused the spat in the first instance, and dont like the stick they get back.
Sometimes a report needs to be directed towards a certain member of the team to be acted upon.
Sometimes the 'moment' has gone, and moderation would serve no purpose.
Sometimes, the post is best left, and speaks volumes about the member.

On occasion, to remove a single reported post means a lot of others become collateral damage, either through direct quotes or reference to, this never goes down well, but is usually necessary, also on occasion if a thread is moving fast we have no time to give each of those members a reason for deletion, so please accept it was done in best interest.

Another thing to remember is that for many reasons members decide to take a sabbatical and may not post for months on end, it is for no particular reason other than they simply decide to, conspiracy theories about them adds nothing.
