Mercedes X-Class Pickup Drive

Not really a pickup we know much about. I have had an Isuzu and L200 in the past and brother had a Hilux. The farm here has a V6 Amorak and a Nissan.

Rygor Mercedes have kindly lent us a X250 Power for a few days to see how it fairs on farm and compares the the v6 Amorak which has a 2 cylinder advantage.

From the drive back on the road, it is very quite and a really nice drive. Also did over 30mpg. Will get into properly using it tomorrow, but here are some pics, it certainly is massive compared to a Defender 90 and quite easy on the eye. Kids have already complained about the lack of side steps (its harder to get into wen you are 3ft 10 apparently:

I personally really dislike the front end on them, seems all wrong somehow. Needs to be sharper, more masculine somehow.

No where near as good as the concept

Rear suspension too soft and uses metal thinner than biscuit tin like the Nissan too I'd presume.

Considering how awful Nissan have been at sorting their previous pickup models, Mercedes is taking quite a chance teaming up I reckon.

Going to put some weight in it tomorrow and give it a test. Will let you know. And do some towing in it too.

Chap in the village has one , saw it the other day and not particularly impressed with it's looks.

I like my Merc stuff but they look like what a Dacia Duster would look like as a pick up on steroids.

Does seem to share parts, key is the same as from my X-Trail. Hopefully doesn't come with Nissan customer service, which is absolutely useless.

No, you will get Mercedes customer service, which on the car side is just as bad as Nissan's. This is retailed by Mercedes truck dealers though, so one would hope that they are a bit more efficient than the car side and maybe a smidgen cheaper.
Since it is a very slightly modified Nissan, what is the actual difference in discounted selling price between them? Remember that on top models of both you do get things like the bed load liner, mudflaps and so on, as standard on Nissan and at extra cost on the Mercedes, and these extras add up quickly.
About £15k difference in selling price like for like is being bandied about. A very high spec Nissan will sell for around £22k, which if the £15k extra for the badge and rear disk brakes is true, and I'm not saying it is, it would have the Mercedes selling for £38k + VAT.

That can't be right. Can it?
