Happened to our 32.6 last year. The mechanic (independent to dealer but helps them out) said better to use genuine merlo as there measurements are to the mm. Especially in the boom if there slightly to long or short it could cause problems. That’s what he said anyway!

Our 40.7 has had two replacements I think,in 10k hrs. Fairly awkward job to get it all back in there , recall string being used to pull them up into the right place. Really need someone on hand who has done one before …..
Def use Merlo pipes, good independent guy near here who I can recommend if any help.

my merlo p40.7 has a burst pipe inside the boom how do we go about replacing it. It’s the pipe for crowding the head stock do I need genuine pipes or can I just get them made up?tia
Where abouts are you based. I had mine replaced last year with a independent hydraulic man and he said that he didn't do one before, but had the 4 pipes replaced in 6hrs

In the front of the boom there is a nut on the end of the extending ram. Open this before sliding the ram out of the back of the boom. Tie string to the tilt and 3rd service pipes as these need to be pulled out with the ram.
