I’m an IT professional working in the medical industry and also a keen amature archaeologist.
I’m reaching out for metal detecting permissions in the Newcastle Upon Tyne/Northumberland area, and in exchange I’m willing to offer my IT services free of charge.
Running a farm is a business, I’m sure the majority of you rely on computer technology to function and I understand the frustrations and expense IT issues can cause.
I’m happy to diagnose and fix any computer related issues you may be having. If you need help with an internet connection, Wi-Fi setup, hardware/software or you’re just after advice! Please contact me to discuss and I’m sure we can come to an arrangement.
For these services I would be grateful for permission to metal detect on your land. I’m happy for any pasture or ploughed fields you may have available on your site, and at a time you deem them available for detecting on.
All finds of value and interest will be reported to the local Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) and I’m more than happy to discuss any finds with yourself and the history of your land. I’m also willing to split any valuable finds 50/50 with yourself, although this is more of a hobby for the love of history than monetary value.
I appreciate you probably get approached by keen detectorists looking for land quite often, I’m also aware that some detectorists give others a bad name by not filling in holes etc.
I’d like to stress I am responsible, courteous and insured and feel this way I am giving something of value back to you landowners in exchange for kind permissions.
