Hi I live in the north east of England and I’m looking for some land to metal detect on, I’v been in the hobby a short while and
I’m eager to have some fields to detect on instead of doing the beaches all the time, in return I will show you all that I find on your land and will share anything I find with you, or if I find something you like you’re more than welcome to have it, I have a strong interest in history and I find this is a great hobby to be involved with it, I will always take everything away I find whether it’s rubbish or otherwise So at the very least you will have cleaner land to work on, I don’t expect anything in life for free, I’m a baker by trade for over 40 years
and if you’d like something in return, bread, cakes , birthday cakes for you family, a nice Christmas cake at Christmas I’m more than willing to do them for you, I am a member North of the Tyne detectors and a member of the NCMD and have liability insurance through them for upto ten million pounds, I will always confirm with you a couple of days before to make sure with you that it is convenient for you to still have me on your land , I’m fully aware of the country code and will always leave your land as I find it filling all holes that I dig.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need to know more about me , chat to me or meet me in person.
Best regards
John cooper

It's crazy that there is no support or anything for metal detectorists I live in Cumbria farms everywhere yet since 2014 I asked many farmers for permission I was met with a firm NO because of outher people ruined it for genuine MD and its just a hobby like fishing

Try toddys digs I went too a few they where good but a fair trip too Scotland try your local MD groups I'm still on the hunt around Cumbria for permission good luck your going too need it I just wish farmers would be a little more understanding but others have wreaked it for new comers who fill in holes and take trash away..

Best too catch a farmer on a good day I'm going too see some this week and have a chat face too face but i had no luck in 2014 because of mindless idiots who don't fill there holes in..

Hi your dead right , I spoke to a farmer who had given permission, even rolled the field for them, but they never showed, won’t entertain the idea ever again, there’s a dig a week a week this Sunday in Northumberland with the
North of the Tyne detecting group if your interested, just need to join the group on Facebook and have a ncmd card, it’s usually a tenner to dig all day, maybe see you there cheers john

That's a great farmer too go out his way to do that kudos to that guy finding local groups is your best idea I'm off too try and get a fixed or two up my way just going to spend a few days knocking on farmers doors or trying too catch them when there not busy is the hardest part.

Good luck with getting permission keep trying that's what I'm going too do there will be some farmers some where who will let you I'm just keeping fingers and toes crossed you would think living in Cumbria it would be easy but trust me it's not I might know a teacher who MD and a friend of a friend will see how it goes good luck all

Hi guys. I too am on the north of tyne detecting and on here for exactly same reason. Should we find any luck with a kind farmer id be happy to join yous. I'm always happy to travel about half an hour to 45 minutes on my trusty 125 scooter. Again im also a member of the NCMD with liability insurance up to 10 million. I have no trade but working on building sites for many years meand I can fix just about anything. I will remove litter and scrap and if i see a hole in a fence i will either report if damage is to much or fix if its just minor. Anything else just ask and hope to hear something back. Regards
