Metal Detecting Permission in Dorset

Hi all just joined as would like to get a permission for myself and my son to do some metal detecting in Dorset. I am that is not keen to go on knock on doors seeking permission with out invertation. So if any one as any type of land avaible it would be wonderful as there is some great history in the fields of Dorset and it would be nice to be able to find at share before being lost to the plough.
