Metal Fencing now eligible in FG1 & FG2 schemes

Interesting to see that metal fencing is now an eligible fencing material in the stewardship schemes.
Recycled plastic fence posts aren't currently eligible but we hope that they will be in the future. We consider the recycled plastic posts as a credible option and ideal in ground that is waterlogged for prolonged periods, and areas where creosote-treated timber isn't permissible. They also offer a similar look to timber but with the advantage of a projected 50+ year lifespan.

Just watch when you put a staple into a plastic post that it doesn’t fly out again at speed. Staple gun may be a good idea!
