Don’t worry, it’s not cows after all..

That's fairly damming if it's correct, that 33% of the global increase in methane is down to shale gas.

No the livestock are not the problem
Given the number of years ruminants have been busy chewing away on this planet minding their own bloody business if they were going to cause global warming they would have bloody well done it by now and we would all be sizzling away quite nicely,
Just stand back and think about it for a bit and its bloody obvious
Agreed, what we actually need is more cattle and sheep. They would need more grass which sequests roughly twice the carbon the livestock emit/acre therefore saving them planet.Simple really. The grass would host lovely animals, mammals, insects, worms and organisms. The animals manure would add much needed organic matter to the soils.
Now what would a plant based diet do to our planet ? It would be catastrophic. Carbon release through cultivation.Killing of millions of animals,mammals/ acre through cultivations.Artifical fertilisers, depleting soils and flying crops all round the world.
I just don't understand how people can't see this, hidden agendas I suspect.Eat local grass fed red meat to save the Climate.

I haven't trawled through much of this thread, but according to my dad, there was a professor James from Sheffield university ?? who spent most of the 1970's telling anyone who'd listen about the dangers of dairy produce. Did a fair bit of damage to the industry. Turns out he was sponsored by Stork margarine.........
Is there something sinister behind all this methane / vegan / anti farming crap today ?
What part of "Yes" do you not understand?

The last caller on today's Any Answers on BBC Radio 4 was spouting discredited propaganda that beef, dairy and sheep are poisoning the planet with methane, and generally using the anti-meat campaigners narrative. It's for people like him to be informed of sound science, and the real drivers of changes in weather patterns and climate.

The report is 10 months old. We should be following the science, and sending this link to people like him.
