MF 1250 on tracks

This was the one that was in Classic Tractor.
The original conversion was done by Grays of Fetterangus in about 1980 for Neil Godsman of Newpitsligo to use on his peat operations.
He sold it in 1985 to White Moss Peat at Kirkby, who rebuilt it on a 1250 in the late nineties.
The tracks are Cantone, made for MF 100 series for rice paddys. The rear chassis was lengthened by 3 feet to accommodate the tracks so full steering lock could be retained.

Talking to owner today. You are correct he bought it from someone at Kirkby

It is in full working order
He would sell it if anyone interested
Located Astley nr Manchester

Maybe it’s just me but I’d be throwing those tracks away and putting wheels back on and putting it back too standard length. Right now it’s a clumsy lump only good for the peat.

Hi all, apologies for hijacking the thread, but I've been trying to work our what model this tractor is in the top left - I was doing an image search for MF 1200 or 1250 as I *think* it is one of those?
@Dave6170 this is your part of the world, so you might know the actual machine?
Cheers
Peter

The 1250 at Manchester started out as a 1200, one of three converted to tracks by Grays of Fetterangus for Neil Godsman. One was subsequently bought by Jack Lund of Local Peat products, at Astley, Manchester, which will be the one that @masseybreaker has in his shed.
Another (reg UDU391R) was sold to White Moss Peat at Kirkby, Liverpool, who eventually re-built it on a 1250, the one which is now in Manchester.
The machine in the article above could be any of the three.

This 1250 was made up of 2 tractors the backend was a 1200 that was converted many years ago and the front was obviously a 1250.... whitemos originally bought it on wheels and had converted using a dead 1200, it was a lump and a half to drive, photo attached at whitemos been laying in that field for some time

I drove the 1200 at Westerdale. It was a multi power. Great machine. Used for pulling others that got stuck as well as on the screw leveller and the fraser trailers. There was a lot of good stuff there but not many took photos.
