Hi I have a 165 that keeps stopping .
.Bleed it through from filters to injection pump air comes out on small bleed screw on pump .Crack off injectors from right to left .Had it running for 5 mins then stops again .Can't get air to stop now on pump bleed.Would it filters or lift pump diaphragm leaking ?Thanks

There's several possibilities, first is that the gauze on the tank outlet is blocked - crack the pipe off the bottom of the fuel tap - if fuel does not run free then either the gauze or the tap is gunged up.

If it runs free then reconnect the pipe and undo the pipe into the injection pump, operate the priming lever on the lift pump - if fuel doesn't flow freely then either the filters are blocked or the diaphragm is likely knackered. If fuel does flow free then it's most likely to be the gauze in the injection pump. The backplate can be removed from the pump in situe, but I would recommend doing a reseal on the pump if it hasn't been done for a few years as once they start sucking air they can become prone to air leaks.

I never liked MFs idea of rubber seals on the pipes to and from the lift pump, always thought olives were a better idea.

I had a '50' that would go for ages and then decide to stop, invariably when out on the road away from the farm, it was down to those rubber seals.

Had similar problem with my dexta
Tightened small screws on top of lift pump ok after.... when I say tightened screws they turned very little
Tool off lift pump and going to replace as doesn't seem to do a lot when pumped .A new one is only £20 .The screws around the middle didn't seem very tight !So that maybe it !
