MF 30 Drill ?

Has anyone sown Maize with a 30 drill? been asked to sow some for a local shoot, and was thinking if I could sow with every other tube blocked off it would leave the rows about 12 "apart. Any help appreciated.

Would it get the seed deep enough , no issues sowing the stuff imo

On rotovated ground it should be fairly deep.

If it is a disc drill you risk every every seed being taken unless you can get it in deep enough. Tine drill should be no issues

We've nothing to do with maize but our seed rep raves about some fella that drills his with a MF30 with blocked off coulters, doesn't bother with plastic & apparently his crops would be the best in his area.

I used a MF30 disc drill with every other spout blocked off .Don't put to much seed in the hopper at once.You need some one ridding on the back as the seed tends to bridge so as they can give it a poke with a stick when it does so. Don't drive to fast and it always came up fine.

Have just what you want, 4 m trailed tool bar, with Clayton openers, for putting in tandem with MF 30 drill, as used to drill Rape in wide rows,
