MF 3080 cylinder head

Hello, due to poor compression I put the head to a company who told me it needed skimmed and also reseated valves and serviced injectors.noticed a very slight bit of play on a couple of pistons but was stupidly? eager and put the whole thing back together.tractor is starting an awful lot better(11,000 hours) but sounds rough and seems to pop and gurgle from exhaust, especially at idle.was all put back together as per Perkins manual (6 354).there is no sign of the engine breathing excessively.are these engines a bit rough when cold anyway?or does anyone know what it could be.(tappets were checked and checked again)

I wouldn't stress to much if its starting OK, let it pop and gurgle all it wants ................
If not already checked, just make sure the engine is getting plenty of air no restrictions and fuel when it needs it, Check sump breather for gunk.

Check thermostart for diesel leak.
If leaking will cause erratic idling and some smoke.

Hello,thanks for replies.air and fuel filters are new.will check thermostart and breather.just a bit annoying after time and expense that its not a bit smoother.thought it might have been an injector pump issue but maybe should just be happy considering the hours that are on it.
