Autotronic is an intrinsic and vital control component of these tractors. It is just a chassis ECU through which everything is controlled. Back in 1986 it was a massive advance in tractor design but these days it is quite normal. In theory it is possible to bypass the Autotronic and provide switches for each tractor function and system, but I am unaware of anyone who has gone to that considerable bother.
The main issue you are likely to have with the ECU [autotronic] is electrical contacts and connections and wiring, including to Earth. Someone local to you with experience should be able to find any faults quickly.

On the very rare occasion the Autotronic ECU itself may fail. In which case it is replaced by a new Autotronic ECU with an adapter cable to the old model tractors. The firmware is then flashed into it through the mechanic's laptop. The good thing is that computing power has vastly improved since 1986 and the price has reduced significantly, so even replacing the Autotronic computer [ECU] is not a killer cost, should it ever be needed.

I checked the ball and cup and clevis pin
They seem to be badly worn but where I am to get the parts are very difficult
Can you advise a parts dealer in uk close to Hampshire
